Individual Coaching

Coaching is a dynamic creative conversation facilitating change. Every person has enormous potential, and there is always a gap between performance and potential. The aim of individual coaching is to maximise a person’s potential and help them identify and achieve their goals.

Coaching is a helpful conversation that creates new thinking, raises self awareness and result in positive action. It is creative, engaging, and energising.

The coach has ‘one foot in, one foot out’. Through not being immersed in the situation, the coach has unique freedom and focus to enable the client to create space for creative thinking for the way forward.

A consultant is engaged to assess and give advice. A coach is engaged to enable the client to develop their own thinking and solutions. Individual coaching is tailored to the person and their unique situation. It is ‘time out’ to reflect, synergise thoughts, create and solve.

When?

When you know you can set aside an hour’s uninterrupted ring-fenced time.
Sole Coaching offers appointments from 8am – 6pm Monday – Friday.

Where?

Individuals: for coaching on work issues, away from your usual workspace. This helps free up thought associations with environment. A quiet room, or a quiet corner of a café works well in a place where you can talk freely without worries of confidentiality.

Team Coaching

The aim of individual coaching is to maximise a person’s potential and help them identify and achieve their goals.

The aim of team coaching is to maximize the team’s potential and help them clarify and achieve their goals, as well as maximizing the potential of each team member, and helping them identify and achieve their personal goals.

Sole Team Building Workshops

Sole Team Building uses a number of tools to help the team identify where they are, where they would like to get to, and how to get there.

Sole Team Building is tailored to the team, the individuals in the team and their unique situation in the context of the organisation and system within which they work. Influences include MBTI (1), Patrick Lencioni (2), Connors et al (3), Nancy Kline (4).

I use interactive workshops for team building. This is different and complementary to team coaching, and workshops can be successfully used alongside or separate to coaching to develop team positively.

Teams

A team is a group of people with complementary skills who are committed to a common purpose, performance goals, and approach for which they are mutually accountable (5). Team building involves raising awareness about the current team situation, celebrating strengths, and identifying areas the team would like to change, and upskilling the team to do so.

A high performing team has a high degree of personal commitment, trust and openness, accountability, fun and change, valuing diversity of thought and people, embraces conflict as a natural process of human relating, and is able to adapt swiftly. They are clear about how they are going to go about their work, what is the task, and they pay attention to how they relate to each other. Coaching addresses the team’s goal, the team’s capacity to achieve the goal, and the team member’s skills in doing the work.

Team members work within their team. The team works within their department within an organisation that is within a system, and coaching allows incorporation of these elements into the conversation. The individual, inter-personal, team, stakeholder and wider systemic connections are all important.

Individual coaching sessions alongside team coaching work very well, particularly for the team leader.

When you know your team can set aside one hour+ of uninterrupted ring fenced time to invest in their development.

Sole Happiness and Wellbeing Workshops

People who are happy enjoy life more, and are more resilient, they have better relationships, are physically more healthy, and are more engaged, and do better at work. No one is happy all the time, but there are skills that can be built up to increase wellbeing and happiness. Sole Happiness and Wellbeing Workshops provide the tools to build up happiness and wellbeing at work and at home.
